Coach Whitt for her fun and enthusiasm.

Mr. Beck for his kindness and encouragement.

Mr. Schell for helping realize I hated chemistry.

My friends, even though they aren't teachers, influenced me more than you know.

Our class, I think I had the best class to go through school with.
Thanks guys!

Mr. Ward - not for the German I learned cuz it wasn't much. He was great to put up with me.

Coach Whit - She is great!

In high school, my most inspirational teacher would have to be Coach Whit. She was encouraging and just a great all around person.

In college, I would say Glenn Mosely, my adviser/main professor in Journalism. Even though I never went into journalism after college, he was willing to help me out with anything. He encouraged me to take an internship and get job experience before graduation

Dr. Briggs the Choir/Troylairs teacher was my most influential teacher. He was always cheerful and had a fun sense of humor. He always gave us a challenge and believed that we were up to the task.

I also enjoyed Mort's government class.

Coach Whit by far. She always treated you like a real person, not just another one of her students. She always had a great attitude and you would feel happier leaving her class than when you came. Mr. Mortenson was a great teacher too.

Mr. Mortenson

Coach Witt!! She was great on 2 mile Wednesdays and would switch up the runs so they weren't so dreadfull. I also liked Mrs. Wolf, I learned absolutely no French and I still got an A. I can't remember the name of the English teacher I had my Senior year. But his son also taught in the Seminary bld. Does anyone remember his name??

I loved Ms. Brown for English. She really helped me love reading, especially the classics. I was never really that interested, but her passion for it was contagious.
Does anyone remember Mrs. Case from Jr. High? I saw her last week at a restuarant. She is still there.

Oops, Mrs. Case isn't at the restuarant still, she is still at Rigby Jr. High. I guess I never learned to write!

Shana, it was Mr. Williams. I had that class with you. He didn't like me.

Mr Williams wanted to end me... both of them. My favorite teacher was Mr. Sorenson he taught troyplayers and english I had him at one point or another for both. The best attribute he possesed that sweet 80's earring that he wore on weekends and on special occasions. No I am kidding though he did have an earring. He was a cool guy and put up with a lot of crap from Bryce Summers and me.

I had many favorite teachers, but some of my favorites were Dr. Briggs, Mr. Schell, and Mr. Ward. Did you know that Mr. Ward died a few years ago? He had cancer, it was pretty sudden.

Does anyone remember the cute old guy that served lunch in the cafeteria? He wore striped overalls every day and was always so nice. He was the best!

Mike! I need your e-mail address. Can't you see you are on the missing person's list? Send it to rigbyreunion98@gmail.com

Mr. Ward actually didn't die. He did have cancer and they didn't think he would make it but he is in remission now. My aunt and uncle are friends with them so they kept me updated.

I hate to say what most everyone else here has said, but I'd have to say Coach (Witt) Jolly because she was so happy all the time. It was infectious. Also Mr. Ward. Like Kambria, I didn't learn much in the class, but it was a fun class. And he definately put up with a lot of crap from us, especially when we traveled to Germany! I also can't leave out the awesome Seminary teachers we had in school! :)

That last post is mine. I forgot my name wouldn't appear. Sorry for any confusion!

The cute old guy was Alvin Sharp. He used to call me by my mother's maiden name, "Miss Poole". What an awsome person. He did pass away - glad I'm not the only person who will remember and miss him. Other teachers... I think blocked that all out a LONG time ago! I'm sure I learned something in Hi Skool...

Anonymous said...

Just FYI...I'm not in your class, but cute Alvin Sharp is still alive and kicking! He lost his wife a few years back, but he is doing well!

Anonymous said...

Really?!? My bad, so sorry! Why are we trying to kick off all of our most influential people?

Robin and Stephenie said...

Alvin sharp gave me a wonderful knife set for my wedding gift and money.. he is so cute! I do love that man.

oh and I loved mrs Wolf too! Didn't learn much french. I think I learned more german from the exchange students.
Oh and does anyone emember the French restuarant. that was a joy!

La Caille? I think. That was a blast! They had banana flambe, but the alcohol didn't burn all the way out so some kids were going around drinking them all. Mrs. Wolf was great, we would always make crepes in her class and she'd give us extra credit for doing it. You can't beat that.

Ever? I would say 6th grade. Mr. Keifner.

High school I would have to say Shawn Sorensen. If I saw him i would have to thank him for pushing me on stage. Otherwise I couldn't of been the actor I am now.

My favorite teachers in high school would have to be: Mrs.Wolf~ I did learn some French and used some of it in Paris. Paris stinks! No really is has a weird odor! ew! I too remember La Caille and it was so much fun. The snails were nasty, but fun to try. Mr. Sorensen ~ I had so much fun in Drama, probably why I am getting skooled in FX Makeup. Mrs. Brown ~ taught me the love of classics and reading. It was great reading in that class. Ms. Henslee ~ She was a great Art teacher and kept the love of art alive in me! Mr Briggs ~ he was just an all around great guy! I also loved Mr. Frei (Seminary)
I too remember the really nice guy from the lunch room! He was so sweet!

Lezhai (Christensen) Gulbransen

Definitely Shawn Sorensen. I have to agree with Mike about the earing, although coming in close second were the sweaters, and the one little patch of his beard that never grew any hair.
Mr. Williams, Ms. Oveson, and Mr. Clark were all awesome teachers, too. I learned a lot from all of them.

Okay, so Mr. Ward is alive? Next time I hear things I'm going to ask for death certificates as proof. Long live Herr Ward!

Mr. Capps. He taught me to think like a computer, which is a great way to get people to think before they speak. =)

And Mr. Ward, I loved German class. Long live Herr Ward!

Donna Duerdon was my English teacher a couple of times- she inspired me so much- I will never forget her. She always made me feel like I was smart and capable- that she believed in me- and most of all she really taught me to love books and school- thats served me well. I still go back and re-read some of the books I read in her class in between other works I'm reading. (when you have an hour subway commute you become a voracious reader)... The Scarlet Letter, To Kill a Mocking Bird, The Giver... classics!
She's the only teacher I remembered the name of from high school until reading this comments section....
